Con l’amore per l’elemento liquido ci sono nato, già a otto anni praticavo l’apnea e il mare era, come lo è tutt’ora, un’attrazione irresistibile. Dopo molti anni dedicati esclusivamente a questa disciplina, nel 1977 mi sono avvicinato all'autorespiratore ad aria e ho conseguito il primo brevetto subacqueo. Non meno coinvolgente è stata l’esperienza dell’insegnamento: molti anni dedicati a trasmettere agli altri le tecniche e le conoscenze personali, sia come istruttore, sia come direttore di una "storica" scuola della subacquea bolognese... Naturalmente ogni momento libero era dedicato alla ricerca, allo studio, all’osservazione e alla ripresa delle abitudini di questo o di quell’altro animale. Con la possibilità, datami dall’autorespiratore, di osservare gli animali marini nel loro ambiente naturale, era inevitabile che l’interesse per questi ultimi prendesse il sopravvento... Intorno ai 20 anni ecco affacciarsi il terzo interesse: la fotografia. Fotografavo prevalentemente paesaggi. Il mare, o in ogni caso l’acqua, erano i soggetti preferiti, poi sono venuti gli animali e di seguito gli abitanti del mare. Oggi dedico circa 150 ore l'anno alla ripresa fotografica subacquea e all'osservazione diretta in natura degli organismi marini. Water, animals and photography Three great passions that have entered, at different times, a distant part of my life. With the love for the element was born, already eight years ago the apnea and the sea was, as it is still today, an irresistible attraction. After many years it has always been a discipline, in 1977 I approached the author of the air scorpion and I obtained the first diving license. No less engaging was the experience of teaching: I came instructor, both as director of a "historic" school of Bolognese diving ... naturally every free moment was dedicated to research, study, observation and resumption of the habits of this or that other animal. With the possibility, given to me by the self-respirator, to observe the marine animals in their natural environment, it was inevitable that the interest for the latter took the upper hand ... Around the age of 20, here is the third interest: photography. I mainly photographed landscapes. The sea, in any case the water, were the favorite subjects, then came the animals and then the inhabitants of the sea. Today I dedicate about 150 hours a year to underwater photography and to the direct observation in nature of marine organisms.
